Our Focus

Community Icon

NAKARMA is developing a number of exciting technologies in computing, business productivity, and eco-engineering. When ready, these will become available as open solutions, open source software, and open designs.

Our solutions are being refined to offer unmatched functionality, while maintaining a minimal waste ethos. Minimal waste of resources—financial or otherwise.

They will function as drop-in replacements, at both the technical and practical levels—in equal measure. Our goal is to create hubs that people can build communities and businesses around—free from dependencies, planned obsolescence, and bottlenecks.

We wish we could share more details, but we’d rather over-deliver than over-promise.

All in due time.

We’re taking meaningful steps in the mean time, by publishing resources for learners, engineers, and business owners.

Materials that lay the groundwork for systemic changes in business and engineering practices.

Our Activities

Digerty Logo

Digerty is an independent digital magazine under the NAKARMA umbrella, offering news, tutorials, guides, and articles about technology and business. We try to make complex topics approachable and, dare we say, entertaining.

Whether you’re looking to solve a problem, explore new career paths, or stay informed about business opportunities, we hope you’ll find something useful. The Digerty editorial team writes for real people— professionals, enthusiasts, and anyone interested in technology and business.

A personal note from the Digerty editorial team:

“Well hello dear reader, fancy seeing you here on the site of our parent, NAKARMA.

Won’t you visit us at digerty.com? It’d help us grow the Digerty community.

Should you encounter something you don’t like dear reader, well then blame Tim. You know… that bloke from the whatsit department.”

NAKARMA is also working on additional services to support our community.

More to come as and when they’re ready.

About NAKARMA

NAKARMA Logo

NAKARMA is a small but focused team of engineers and specialists. We’re a British initiative, headquartered in Hong Kong, bringing together people from different cultures and backgrounds.

We work through separate teams. Our publishing division creates educational resources through Digerty, and other upcoming services, while our research and development team quietly works on tomorrow’s solutions. When these solutions are ready, they’ll find their home in a non-profit foundation, ensuring they remain open and accessible to all. In perpetuity.

What brings us together is our shared concern about the way things are done in the industries that shape modern life. IT, electronics, and related technologies in particular. We believe there are better and more equitable ways of doing things, and we’re working hard to develop practical alternatives.

We aim to disrupt the status quo in these industries, while offering a path that transitions to alternative technologies and practices. We understand that as disruptive technologies evolve, so too must business methodologies and infrastructures.

Our focus is on people, not profits. Needless to say, this does not attract investors. Nor are we eager to accept conventional investors that would force us to cut corners. Instead, we sustain our mission through our publishing activities, reinvesting the proceeds into research and development.

It’s time for a new kind of business, instead of business as usual. Thus we envisioned NAKARMA—to do well by the global community and our planet.

Yes, yes, it's a single line and all that. Optimisations, you see? But it's not obfuscated, minified and all those other types of gibberywhatsit. Just a single line. Quite readable. Give it a go. Or just turn JavaScript back on and drop us a line.

Why not just give you the address? Because of those nasty creepy crawlies that lay their spam ovulations all over the shop!
